Hi, I am Joseph Lanyo and I am a young Afrobeat/Afro Gospel musical artist from the United States. I was born and raised in Togo, West of Africa. I speak both Ewe, my native dialect, and French, which I learned I learned at a young age. I remain true to my cultural roots despite having lived and been surrounded by western culture from the age of fourteen. My work contains African influences and musical facets, producing a beautiful fusion of melodies from a culture far away across the Atlantic Ocean. African instruments, gospel, and musical legends such as Burna Boy, Timaya, and Mr. Eazi have all inspired my work. I create African rhythms filled with entrancing lyrical choir melodies and stuttering percussion so that no matter where or when in life you are, they touch you and make you feel like moving to the music.
